Topic: Common Areas, Landscaping

Stoneridge residents are showing true community support by helping each other recover from Hurricane Wilma. From helping install and remove hurricane shutters to sharing generator power, batteries, foods and other supplies during the power outage to clearing debris and righting fallen trees, our neighbors demonstrate the Stoneridge spirit.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS ARE BELOW THE PICTURE

The volunteer Stoneridge Tree Crew, led by board member Mark Samstad and Bob Docekal, restored over 20 trees to their proper position over a 3-day period.

The Stoneridge Tree Crew (pictured below) includes (not all are pictured, unfortunately), from left to right, Giovanni and Rick Alberty, John Murphy, Mark Samstad, Michael Bentivegna, Bob Docekal, Ira Sponder, Vayden Scott and Alan Carpenter.

Gables Property Management and Hurricane Landscaping will be working to restore damaged common areas and landscaping.

Residents are encouraged to post recommendations for repair services in the forums.

From the Broward County Trash Service Update:

There will be no recycling, bulky waste or household hazardous waste collection until further notice for all Broward County cities and unincorporated areas.

Cities are beginning to collect household municipal waste (garbage) on regularly scheduled collection days. Please place household municipal waste in your garbage can. The focus is on garbage collection, carts, and cans only. Bags may not be collected in these initial collections.

Vegetative waste should be kept separate from the garbage and will be collected separately.

Keep household municipal waste separate from non-vegetative hurricane debris including broken fences, roof shingles, and patio furniture. Do not place these items in your garbage can or cart.

Unfortunately, there is no word yet on pickup of hurricane debris in Pembroke Pines.

FEMA offers free tarps for damaged roofs
